Aron Marcus BDS

Dr Aron Marcus graduated from the prestigious Kings College London Dental School in 1985. After qualifying, he spent his first year in hospital dentistry where he obtained a broad range of experience before moving to general practice.  In his early years as an associate dentist, Dr Marcus soon became extremely popular with his patients owing to his caring and gentle approach and his commitment to quality. He also developed a keen interest in all aspects of restorative dentistry, in particular crown and bridgework.
 
In 1993, Dr Marcus set up his own practice in North London. Recognising the need for extremely nervous patients to have access to dentistry, he became proficient in IV sedation and was soon well known in the local community for carrying out this treatment in a particularly caring manner. At the same time, he pursued his interest in implant dentistry, attending a year course in this speciality and later at the Bicon Dental Implant Institute in the USA. He continues to practice implant dentistry and has, to date, successfully completed many cases with excellent results and feedback from his patients.
 
He also developed an interest in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) and in 2004 completed the Eastman's Certificate in Endodontics.
 
In 2002, Dr Marcus moved to Whetstone, taking over a long established family practice and continues to provide the same quality of service to his growing list of patients along with his two associates and two hygienists.
 
Throughout his career, Dr Marcus has continued to pursue postgraduate education and is regularly updating his knowledge in all areas. He is a member of various professional bodies including the BDA and the Association of Dental Implantologists. He is also past chairman and trustee of the London Chapter of Alpha Omega, an international Dental charity.

Dr Marcus is married with three children but still manages to remain relatively sane.

Dr Sara Cohen

Dr Cohen graduated from the University of Cardiff in 2001. She joined the practice in 2005. She has a broad range of experience in helping, treating and interacting with adults and children with a variety of dental needs, keeping up to date with the latest technology and research.

Dr Cohen says “I enjoy and take great satisfaction in making sure my patients feel happy and confident when they smile, and tailor my treatment to suit each patient's individual needs. “

Dr Cohen particularly enjoys treating children and guiding them through their childhood years to have as little dental treatment as possible, with a strong emphasis on prevention at all times for all ages.

She spends time with patients who have a fear of dental treatment, and takes pride in helping them to overcome that anxiety.
In her free moments, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, socialising with friends, walking, baking and other artistic pursuits.

Dr Richard Horwitz 

BDS, MClinDent, MFDS RCSEd, Cert Perio (EFP), FHEA
Specialist in Periodontics

Dr Richard Horwitz has recently joined the Practice providing specialist gum treatments and dental implants. As well as providing specialist care for our own patients, he also accepts patients on a referral basis.

After qualifying from the University of Sheffield, Dr Horwitz was awarded the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

He then worked in general dental practice before embarking on three years of specialist training at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute. He was awarded a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology (MClinDent), and a Certificate in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry from the European Federation of Periodontology (Cert Perio (EFP)).

His research interests are in the treatment and causes of peri-implant diseases

Dr Victoria Mellor BDS

Dr Victoria Mellor trained at Manchester Dental School, and qualified BDS in 1992. After working in practices around greater Manchester and Surrey/Sussex, she settled in Hertfordshire with her family. She has been working at the practice since 2008.

Dr Mellor is passionate about dentistry and regularly attends regional post graduate lectures to keep up to date with modern dental surgery techniques. She has developed a local reputation as a well-respected family dentist and gets great satisfaction from completing a treatment plan to a very high standard. She particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry including white fillings and porcelain crowns. Victoria has a calm, relaxed manner and prides herself in putting patients at their ease. She has built has built up a strong rapport with her patients over the many years that she has worked at the practice.

Dr Ian Arad BSc(Hons), BDS, MJDF RCS(Eng). MClinDent, MOrth RCS(Eng)

Dr Ian Arad provides specialist orthodontic treatment at the practice for both adults and children and is also fully trained in Invisalign TM and  Lingual Orthodontics, “Invisible Braces.”

He is a superb orthodontist and prides himself on providing excellent treatment and personalised care. He is meticulous in his approach to treatment and works tirelessly to give patients the outcome they desire.

Dr Arad.studied dentistry at Kings College London where he was awarded 3 prizes, including the prestigious Jelf Medal.  He was also awarded membership of The Joint Dental Faculties of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and has published in orthodontic literature. In addition, he also has a degree in biochemistry.

Looking for a new challenge, Dr Arad commenced specialist training in orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital and Southend Hospital NHS.  He was awarded his Masters in Clinical Dentistry and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Whilst on his career pathway, Ian has managed to take enjoyment from a wide range of activities including football, fencing and golf.

Dr Arad was inspired to become an Orthodontist, because, as he says “the craft and skill involved brings about a true transformation in people. I firmly believe that it is not just their smile that is transformed, but also their whole self, their confidence and their self esteem. I know that I can really make a difference to someone’s life and feel very privileged to be able to do this. “

Natalie Khatiri

Natalie Khatiri is a dedicated, qualified dental hygiene therapist who has worked at the practice since. She is very calm and gentle and particularly supportive with nervous patients and children.
